THIRD Link Party!

Congratulations to Grade Three for earning their THIRD Link Party!  We had cupcakes and drinks and watched Super Buddies.  Third Graders earned links by working together as a team.  Lining up silently, modeling good behavior for other students, working quietly during seatwork, and turning in homework on time were all ways that their third link chain grew until it hit the ground.  Way to go!

In Art with Ms. Krakowski, the Third Graders looked at Wassily Kandinsky's color studies as an inspiration to create their own abstracted corn, as well as explore primary and secondary color.  The students created a checkerboard pattern throughout the corn cob, alternating squares of primary and secondary color, while experimenting with Kandinsky's circle pattern.

You've Got Mail!

Each year, Grade Three participates in a letter writing project.  Students write a friendly letter to anyone in the world.  They write to family members, friends, athletes, singers, authors, and many more. One of last year's Third Graders wrote to her favorite video game designer, Scott Cawthon, creator of "Five Nights at Freddy's."  Today, a large envelope came addressed to her as a thank you for her fan letter.  He autographed a t-shirt and several "Five Nights at Freddy's" toys for her!  What a special way to learn about the power of the written word!  Have you written a letter to someone recently???
