We hope everyone enjoyed visiting Grade Three tonight for Curriculum Night! It was a pleasure to talk to you and share our daily routine. As promised, here is the Grade Three video of our first few weeks of school. Enjoy!
The Third Graders wrote acrostic poems to celebrate a new season. They brainstormed a list of fall ideas. Each student chose one idea as a focus for his or her acrostic poem. Students wrote their final drafts in their best handwriting on a pumpkin and then decorated it for our "Pumpkin Patch of Poetry." These are some great pumpkins!
In Art with Ms. Krakowski, the Third Graders looked at Wassily Kandinsky's color studies as an inspiration to create their own abstracted corn, as well as explore primary and secondary color. The students created a checkerboard pattern throughout the corn cob, alternating squares of primary and secondary color, while experimenting with Kandinsky's circle pattern.
Learning about money is fun when you play Let's Make a Deal and shop at the classroom store. Although the Third Graders didn't get to keep their Let's Make a Deal winnings, the items they purchased at the classroom store with their classroom money was theirs to keep! Check out this video of all of our fun!
