Recorders Rocked the Spring Concert

The Third Graders did a phenomenal job performing at the Spring Concert after our Memorial Day Prayer Service.  Decked out in red, white, and blue, Grade Three performed a number of songs showcasing their singing and instrumental talents.  I even got to join in on the fun as a guest performer!

Each year, Grade Three participates in a letter writing project.  Students write a friendly letter to anyone in the world.  They write to family members, friends, athletes, singers, authors, and many more. One of last year's Third Graders wrote to her favorite video game designer, Scott Cawthon, creator of "Five Nights at Freddy's."  Today, a large envelope came addressed to her as a thank you for her fan letter.  He autographed a t-shirt and several "Five Nights at Freddy's" toys for her!  What a special way to learn about the power of the written word!  Have you written a letter to someone recently???

Welcome back to a wonderful new year of learning!  Ms. McLoughlin and I are thrilled to be teaching the wonderful students of Grade Three.  We have had a great week of learning new routines, talking about responsibilities, and meeting new teachers.
